Sangiovese 2024
Inspired by unforgettable journeys through Tuscany—gravel rides along the strade bianche, long tables filled with friends, incredible food, beautiful wine, and the unmistakable joy of Italy. Made with Sangiovese grown at Van Lobo Sel in Sonoma Valley, this is our Sonoma expression of the Tuscan spirit.
A Taste of Tuscany, Grown in Sonoma.
Inspired by several unforgettable trips to Tuscany, this Sangiovese captures a little of the magic that keeps drawing us back to Italy. One trip in particular became the stuff of legend—a group of great friends gathered at an incredible Tuscan villa, spending our days riding gravel bikes along the iconic strade bianche and our evenings around the table, sharing beautiful food, local wines, stories, and plenty of laughter. It was everything we love about Italy: the landscape, the generosity, the long meals, and that effortless sense of joy that comes from slowing down and savoring the moment. Back home, we found a little piece of Tuscany in Sonoma Valley, sourcing beautiful Sangiovese from Van Lobo Sel and crafting a wine inspired by those journeys, those friendships, and the Italian spirit of la dolce vita.
Remarks
Vibrant acidity and remarkable energy, our first Sangiovese reveals a harmonious blend of red and black fruits. Medium in weight, it is framed by polished tannins and exceptional structure. Delivers a beautifully balanced and refined wine that can be paired with any of your favorite dishes.
98.5% Sangiovese, 1.5% Merlot.
Weather
Cool mornings and evenings balanced by warm, sunlit days created one of the best vintages we have seen. An extra late harvest after a season of near-perfect weather allowed the fruit to develop slowly and evenly, resulting in exceptional balance, depth, and complexity.
