This is where the Flight Path story began—our very first vintage, made from just a single barrel. Small in scale but big in meaning, it marked the beginning of our journey to make elegant, balanced wines.

Our First Flight.

Every journey has a beginning, and for Flight Path, this was ours. Our 2022 Merlot was the very first wine we made. Before we had access to the fruit from our own property, we sourced Merlot from Corona Vineyards, a neighboring vineyard in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District. Inspired by the elegant, restrained wines of Bordeaux, we set out to create a Merlot with beautiful fruit, balance, structure, and a sense of place. This first bottle became the beginning of our journey rooted in Oak Knoll, inspired by the wines and places we love, and a glimpse of what was to come.

Remarks

Our first barrel from Napa Valley. A plush, sophisticated wine that captures the essence of the region’s cool climate with elegance and depth. Perfect for pairing with roasted meats, hearty pasta dishes, or simply savoring on its own.

90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc.

Weather

In 2022, the region experienced significant weather variations. This vintage was defined by a warm growing season with a September heat wave, followed by cooler temperatures and light rainfall, creating ideal conditions for Merlot.
